VS

In summer, the fur of the ermine is overall brown, with darker back fur that is close to dark brown, and the abdomen turning light yellow or gray white. Its hair is short and rough, and some individuals have irregularly distributed small dark spots on their sides. There may be a small amount of winter white hair remaining at the tips and tails of their ears. This seasonal change in fur color is mainly to adapt to the summer vegetation environment. The short fur structure helps dissipate heat, while the brown tone can provide effective concealment in grasslands or shrubs.

In winter, the fur of ermine completely turns pure white, with only a small amount of black fur remaining at the tip of the tail. Their body hair density increases, with thick and dense fuzz growing at the bottom layer. The length of their outer hair can reach twice that of summer, which can keep them warm in extreme cold weather. The surface of the hair has a slight luster and a soft touch. This white camouflage can make it almost invisible in snowy environments, avoiding the pursuit of predators
